Awesome, Jiggy! We have a Meijer, and you can always transfer to Lancaster, Ohio. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

Jiggy you got a set work schedule? Not yet - I have one more day of orientating left, then I meet up with my team leader and go from there. I applied for third shift, but since I have a flexible schedule, I don't know if that's set in stone.

I didn't have a set schedule and that sucked.

I'm gonna start looking for another job.
The only thing keeping my sanity with this new job is my commute to the plant is only 5 minutes away. Well, they're closing down a plant, and because of seniority, they're moving me an hour commute away without my consent. This job is stressful enough without a 2 hour daily commute to-and-from work.

Fuck that, I don't blame you. What a time to be an HMF worker. Some are looking to get out, some are starting new businesses/jobs, some are getting their foot in the door while others can't, some want to leave their shit-ridden area... etc. Someone needs to find a way to make all our posting brilliance into money and life will find a way, god damnit.

To top it off, I don't even know how I pulled through the last two days. I've had a blistering headache that will. not. go away. Today was already just the worst day of all of them so far, and after the 12 hour shitstorm I get ready to leave for work only to find out I have to work tomorrow, and they're gonna be moving my location soon.
Total shit. I'm stuck in this mess.

Oh shit. That sucks man. That actually might qualify you for unemployment. That is technically called a lack of work. Unless they compensate you for your time and the extra drive. You don't have to be on a job very long to get unemployment you just have to have made enough money in the last quarter. I can't remember what Cali laws are for this. I would see if they will compensate you for the all of a sudden change in agreement at the time you were hired. Good luck man. If they mentioned upon being hired that this change could happen, then you are shit out of luck. Then again, it's been 15 years since I worked in that field. Good luck bro.

I just wish I had a couple of days to clear my head. But all I'm doing is working, and the stress of learning all this new shit is enough for a job that pays OK, but combine that with a long ass commute to waste more of my day does not help.

Yeah man, that is one hell of a surprise. I live only 5 minutes away from my job too. I work anywhere from 10-15 hours a day. Put in an extra two hour drive for the day back and forth from work, and I could not swing it. Unless I wanted to be an absent dad and husband. Even then, the extra gas and wear and tear on my car would not be worth it unless I was handsomely compensated. And we know that don't happen a lot.

That response of hers was polite and vague. I wonder if it was because of the petition.
