The "bottom line" of everything in the NFL is pretty horrible but I remain addicted to the product. I'm really not sure what my breaking point would be, but I don't think we're far away from the NBA becoming the most popular sport at all. The last 15-20 years have been bad. About 40% into this season was my breaking point. My investment will never be what it was. Too tied to the Broncos, the news mill, draft prospects, favorite players etc. Not a hobby I can imagine dropping any time soon. I love my weekends in the fall.

Jerry Rice is the only unquestionable Mt. Rushmore guy for me. Everyone else can be debated. L.T., for me. And any youngsters reading: No, not LaDainian Tomlinson. My problem with LT is that other pass rushers can be debated against him. Reggie White was just as good IMO. Randy Moss is the only WR in the same league as Rice.

I'll have to gauge it after this off season. I'll always follow my Broncos, but the die hard investment is long gone. I was dangling by a thread even after Super Bowl 50.

I don't watch football anymore. TBH, the last thre or four years have gotten nearly unbearable in terms of purity and shit. The NFL doesn't even know what a catch is anymore. It's definitely not my favorite sport, at this point. Baseball owns that crown. It has steadily gotten more contrived for sure. The physicality and warfare-like action has been replaced by a weird hybrid. Good defense has almost become a game of how much you can interfere with receivers and get away with it.

You can look at sack totals and shit, but to this day I've never seen a dude rag doll linemen to the extent of L.T. He also doubled as a pass defender more than people think. And I will always love the Ryan family, but that game where Buddy put the hit on L.T. for the game, I'll never forget. Dude was unreal.

Good defense has almost become a game of how much you can interfere with receivers and get away with it. It's become designed to fit the agenda of officiating. Even in instant replays, the rules are so manipulated that the officials can decide what they want and get away with nearly anything. It's not NBA bad, but it compromised the integrity of the sport for me. It sullies whatever else happens on the field. I have long been a critic of pisspoor officiating. Baseball is the only sport that has it right.

Look at some Reggie White videos, and he practically threw linemen. Also, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss basically have the same career. Moss peaked a bit higher but Owens peaked a little longer.

The age and manner that Andre Waters and Kevin Turner died, not so far apart, was kinda heartbreaking for me. I always loved those guys for putting their head down and inviting contact. Cheering on the acts that caused their premature death was eye opening for me.

I always compared T.O. and Moss throughout their careers. T.O. took off faster, but I think Moss emerged as the superior player. I loved Reggie White, saw a ton of his play, but I wouldn't compare him to L.T.

Moss changed the way the passing game was defended. Greatest weapon the game has seen and didn't have drops problem TO had.

Thing about LT for me, is he was a clean tackler. On sacks, he just kind of bear hugged QBs. Most of the time it was because he got here so quick, the QB was still standing upright.
