Hell, that article doesn't even mention the Kirk Cousins' "YOU LKE THAT" tirade, JJ Watt's assortment of sack celebrations or Aaron Rodgers' championship belt dances. It's just a sad reality that black athletes are continually looked down upon for showing personality where white athletes are revered for it. Always behind some thinly veiled variation of the "do it the right way" argument. It's absurd.

Yeah, I'm definitely not seeing it. Deion Sanders has had actual highlight reels of just his pick/touchdown dances before. He is black. Every black linebacker in the league does a sack dance and nobody gives a shiit. Nobody cares that Victor Cruz does a salsa dance, or Ray Lewis did a squirrel dance that white people in Baltimore are still doing today, or The Ickey Shuffle which was recently commercialized even though Ickey Woods only lasted three years in the NFL, or Chad Johnson, Emmitt Smith, Terrell Owens, Randy Moss, or any current black player today who does a touchdown dance.
The issue that people have is Cam Newton does it excessively, after every first down completion, first down run, touchdown scored, coupled with the fact that he is a quarterback and we've never seen celebrating this excessively at that position... That's it... That article you posted mentioned two players from the Titans who approached Newton while he was celebrating. Avery Williamson and Wesley Woodyard. Both black. The people trying to push this into a race issue are pathetic. Robert Flores sounds like he needs a kick in the mouth.
Before I ever heard about this "white people just hate Cam" spew, I naturally assumed that other teams and fans took it as showboating, and couldn't handle it because it was against their team. I will sure as shiit not enjoy watching him showboating in Denver next year. I think it's a little bit excessive, considering he touches the ball every down and does some form of showboating on every big play, but I personally don't care because he's been fun as hell to watch this year and I'll continue to root for him to get to the Super Bowl. He is a hell of a playmaker. If you want it to stop, outperform him on the field and win the game. Then Dance the night away in his face.
Just make sure the players who do the dancing in front of Cam are black players, otherwise it'd be racist.
As far as Cousins/Watt/Rodgers go, Cousins is a walking underdog story who lifted his team to an unexpected playoff berth. His two-second "You like that!" shout was after the largest come from behind in Redskins history, and it wasn't in anyone's face but the Washington media. JJ Watt does lots of sack dances, so does Von Miller, Justin Houston, etc.. If white people hate that, why aren't they all over the internet crying about it? Rodgers only did his belt dances after he scored a touchdown. Not after every big completion... Or first down run...
It's a bit excessive no doubt. And the people complaining about it are either complaining for that exact reason, or for the simple fact that he's running over their team.

The NFL needs more celebrations, less bitter white people shitting out "think of the children" excuses. The idea that dancing can make you less of a leader says more about the people saying it than those actually doing it.

And here's my checkmate on this matter:
(Reaction to Brett Favre's typical excessive celebrations): What a fun loving competitor! Just loves the game and has such a passion! He's like a kid out there!
(Reactions to Cam Newton's typical excessive celebrations): How will I explain this to my children? He's a vulgar, oversexed menace to society. Not what you expect from a leader.
One is having fun, one is being uppity. Weird. Never mind the fact that Cam does as much community work as any NFL player, has never gotten into any off-the-field trouble, and is loved by his teammates.

No, but these race allegations are retarded and way off base. I don't understand how you can support them. The NFL needs more celebrations, less bitter white people shitting out "think of the children" excuses. The idea that dancing can make you less of a leader says more about the people saying it than those actually doing it. Why do you think the NFL needs more celebrations? It's a game of football, not dancing with the stars. And it wasn't until this year that people started giving Cam shiit for his excessive celebrating. You are completely missing the pattern. He limited it to the Superman thing in his first three or four years in the league. You'd be lying if you said he doesn't celebrate more than any other player in the league. That is the issue. "The NFL needs more celebrations"!

And here's my checkmate on this matter: Lol. Your checkmate failed to acknowledge my comparison to every other black player from that era. Deion Sanders has had legitimate highlight reels of him just dancing. Ray Lewis? We all know what a model citizen he is. His squirrel dance is a tradition in Baltimore. Ickey Shuffle, Hanks, Owens, Moss, Emmitt. All of those guys are black, nobody ever once gave a shiit. If it's racism, why isn't anyone trying to tear down Odell Beckham? Or every black linebacker in the league after a sack? Or every black DB on a pick six? What about the black players in the Titans game who approached Cam about it? And you come in with "Checkmate. Favre celebrated too!" Lol. Show me one clip of Brett Favre dancing in the end zone/taunting fans after a touchdown throw. Or puffing his chest out while slowly signaling 'first down' with the football and smiling in the face of his opponents. You're only moving pawns at this point.

I am not sure if it is a race thing, but no one has given me a really good answer as to why people have a problem with his celebrations though. It is quite fucking weird.
Last week when he handed that 5 year old boy his football after a TD, was possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen. That kid got so excited.
Double standards happen. Show a picture of a black family with guns, then all of a sudden, its different.

I didnt say it was because he was black, brotha. I agree with you, but it is weird. I have watched 3 Panthers games this season and didnt see him doimg anything different than what players do these days. I see all sorts of position players cekebrate on almost every drive. Also, I was just saying that everyone has double standards. I think a lot of what you said is correct. But I also dont think it is out of the question that some people would feel that he is "uppity" because he is playing a "white mans position". It happens.

But I also dont think it is out of the question that some people would feel that he is "uppity" because he is playing a "white mans position". It happens. Look no further than the pattern for the answer. Cam is the only player that is apparently being ridiculed for his taunting, right? Why is it that he was never ridiculed for it in the 4 previous years he was in the NFL? Did the entire white race conveniently become racist during week 1 of NFL kickoff? If so, why aren't they racist toward the hundreds and hundreds of other black players who dance and taunt? Maybe it's the fact that Cam Newton began celebrating and taunting more than any other player in football? We have never seen celebrating this excessively at the quarterback position. Think about it. The quarterback and center touch the ball more than anybody, and Cam celebrates more than the amount of catches his receivers get. Cam used to do the Superman after every touchdown run, now he has a dance for every yard gain. 11 yard gain? Time for the barrel roll. 17 yard gain? Time for the boogity shuffle. 19 yard gain? Time for the old-fashioned twist. Nobody celebrates to the extent that Cam Newton does, and to blame white people while ignoring the on-field scuffles it's causing (with black players, mind you) is borderline retarded. By the way, this thread is the first I ever heard that he is being ridiculed for it, but I completely understand it. I watch these games, and he celebrates far more than any other player in the league. Nobody takes more issue with his taunting than the players on the field. Check out these white players who aren't happy about it.

Its funny because I domt entirely disagree with you. But the example video you used, I dont see him doing anything out of the ordinary. At all. Which is why I am baffled by it. I have watched him play this year and dont see a problem with a guy who looks like he is having fun. `Shrugs`
