real songs? i guess you have a point with pre-existing songs vs. songs written for the movie (or a stage version of said movie)

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is about the only soundtrack, aside from Grease, that I can even recall. Both are solid, though.

What songs were in the Guardians movies that were so great? All I could remember from the first one was the Blue Swede song from the trailer. I only got like halfway through the first movie before shutting it off.

I only got like halfway through the first movie before shutting it off. At which point your opinions are invalid. Not only were they enjoyable songs that were good to listen to, they framed the context of the film and became a part of the storyline in vol 2. It's a great use of tunes.
