The blu ray transfer is the best I've ever seen. They cared about this box set. I really dislike watching a lot of those movies where the transfers are too crisp. Phantasm really fell apart when I first watched it on DVD. The mausoleum sets really looked fake with the improved clarity. Also, films like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre are best viewed on a well worn VHS. Adds to the experience. I agree with TCM. Same with Evil Dead and movies with that gritty feel. But the Phantasm Ball Brain Drain in high definition was pretty special to see.

The blu ray transfer is the best I've ever seen. They cared about this box set. I am strapped, money wise, at the moment, because I have been investing a lot of money into my bands. But damn, I miss buying fun stuff. I just might put off an oil change and dentist appointment to buy this.

How about the obvious use of cheap wallpaper to try to make rooms look like they are made of marble?

It's not all that obvious unless you're really looking. Styrofoam walls in the Boogens was obvious.
