I can't understand this shit anymore. How is this new method easier than having a memory card and a memory port, like allll the old systems?... better graphics, more involved story, more exploration, better gameplay, new game systems are basically super computers dedicated to optimizing gaming for the game you are currently playing, not saving old saves on games you haven't played in a year.

I see. What I'm saying is, though... If these are super computers, where is the super memory?? Actually digging Journey, so far. Played it for like an hour and it seems pretty neat. Caught me in the right mood, I guess. Definitely not for everyone, but I can dig it.

Caught me in the right mood, I guess. Definitely not for everyone, but I can dig it. more memory=more money for the console. you can get systems that have a bigger hard drive but they cost more. and super computer was a bad choice of words, should've said optimized to run the games more efficiently without any extra stuff bogging down the system. the only real reason to keep a game installed on your system is if you plan on replaying it a lot, otherwise delete it and make room for the next game. Mark said you can keep the save games on the system even if you delete the game from the system. the game is the biggest chunk of data on the system, not the saves, unless you save ridiculously often. The only benefit really to a console over a computer for gaming is the console exclusives, which are usually eventually ported to PC (looking at you Naughty Dog-no PC ports as yet).

So, Journey was actually pretty damn cool. I was encountering other beings like me throughout the game and I had no idea until the end credits that I was playing with actual people.
Another player and I walked to the end of the game together. Had no idea that was an actual person. Crazy.

Scored Destiny for an even 6 bucks out the door earlier this afternoon.
1) How will I feel about this one? 2) Does it require ample amounts of modern era gaming skills 3) Will I suck fucking balls at it?

I don't know I haven't actually played it yet. I do know that I royally suck at PvP MMOs so I'm hoping it's more PvE and PvP is optional. Otherwise I likely won't make it far into the game before getting really pissed off. (Only exceptions I've found to PvP MMOs that I've liked are Unreal Tournament and Planetside.)

Not quite following. Can you unabbreviate the abbreviations, plz? PvP= Player versus player, you and I will get our asses kicked 9 times out of 10 PvE= Player versus environment, you and I would do fine. MMO= Massive Multiplayer Online the sucky thing about you getting Destiny is you got it for PS3 and there's no cross-platform multiplayer so I can't play it with you as I got it on PS4.

Also just an FYI. If anyone wants to try out DC Universe it is free to play and does cross platform connections. So I can play on PC, Reign can play on PS4, Jason on PS3, etc and we can all connect with each other in game on the different systems. Just let me know if any of you are interested.

Is this game even playable offline? Will my copy just be completely defunct eventually?

Holy ballz, that is gay. So games need to be rereleased to keep up with newer consoles if you're ever gonna play them again. So if I fucking love Destiny and get the urge to play it on ps3 in ten years then I'm shit out of luck because the game practically doesn't even exist...

This is why 90s era gaming always wins.

This is why 90s era gaming always wins. MMOs were around in the 90s too late 90s at least. It's just a downside to MMOs. It costs money to run the servers, after a while people tend to lose interest, leave the game, still costing the same to run the server but now fewer and fewer people play, less money coming in= shutting down the servers. Pay attention to the games you buy, if it says it requires an internet connection, it is likely the game is gonna go defunct at some point in the future.

Yeah, but I never played that PC online crap! I got a pretty good idea of what games are online-heavy. Battlefield, CoD, etc... It's not so bad. At least I can play Last of Us again in 20 years if I want. (I think)

(I think) I have, quite fun games actually It's honestly not that different from sports games, after a year the teams are defunct and outdated, new version comes out, rinse and repeat yearly. But yeah I have a couple of games that I paid for that I got years of use out of but now will never get to play again and that sucks, but on the plus side, if the game is really good, often times the players will get together and try to keep the servers going on their own (one of the old games I used to play are in the process of getting permission to do this cause a lot of people were pissed when one of the games went down.)

I actually played this game called Commando on PC way back in the day. Good stuff. Cheap game, but I liked it. Pretty sure it doesn't become defunct, though. There's no "MMO". A friend made me buy Starcraft on PC when it came out and I was disappointed. Plus I just sucked. I wanna play Clock Tower pretty bad, though.
