I think it is worth clarifying what we need, and what I think we need, so that we aren't going nuts. I was struck for a start that Tigg was looking at hosting sites. We appear to have a hosting site (http://www.horrormoviefans.com still works, and the /message_board should in theory still work, its that our actual message board has gone to shit, but the hosting/URL is still ours) already set up, so what we need is a message board designer/support software, and that we can "map" as it were to /message_board instead of the old one.
I also wonder if we should resurrect or kill other aspects we have either entertained or actively supported. As an example, some of these can also do a blog (newsblog?), calendar, image hosting, file sharing, etc etc. So the query really is twofold:
What do we want from a message board?
What (if anything) do we want in addition to the message board?
I throw it open to the floor first, whilst I think about it myself.

This is a good idea let's find out what we need first. I thought a Web Host was the way to do it but I'm new to this.

I'm just saying I will start immediately working on a completely new site and fund it myself. It may be great it may not be I'm new to this but I do work with a large number of Web nerds I can go to for advice as well as people on here. Put me in coach I'm ready to play.

What (if anything) do we want in addition to the message board? I throw it open to the floor first, whilst I think about it myself. I think it needs to have the flexibility of those additional items that the old board provided (newsblog, hall of fame etc.) as offshoot sites/pages. Definitely image/video hosting and file sharing should be included, but that should be standard anywhere I'd think. Outside of that, I just want the message board to flow reasonably like the old one did, or can be made to do so. I don't really care if it's equipped to be hitched to social media, that you could easily throw shit onto twitter, facebook etc. like I've seen elsewhere. Although someone like yourself might view that as a priority. Banner incorporation is a must that takes us to the recent posts page. Though since we could do that at the old board, here, and I've seen it elsewhere shouldn't be an issue. I'm pretty simplistic in that I want it to be as much like the old board and it's functionality as possible. Any other bells and whistles are gravy or whatevs.

I personally never viewed it should be taken into a direction of social media, like Facebook or Twitter. We like our classics!

Which is why I think priority number one should be potentially restoring it with the old content. Not sure how it wouldn't be possible.
