And hottest chick ever. I was on topic of kills. Yeah, the cast of girls were all kinds of hot. Well, except for that hitchhiker.

Trish is probably #2 for me in that movie. Sara really grew on me over the years. As a kid I thought she was alright.

I do agree with the sentiment that Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter is the perfect slasher. It's everything the sub-genre should and aspire to be. It's missing an element that I rather enjoy, being the mystery of who is behind the killing. While most slashers that try this fail, there are a few that stand out as doing it well (in my opinion), being the original My Bloody Valentine. While I've not posted my list yet, My Bloody Valentine will be above Friday the 13th Part IV. Not to say Friday the 13th Part IV isn't good - it is. It's a fantastic movie. But still, I prefer some well-done mystery when possible. Just my thought. I think the necessity of mystery is more of a giallo trait than a slasher trait. My biggest issues with mysteries is they often fail pretty hard upon repeat viewings. You quickly see the guy doing the killings is built like a brick shithouse with god-level strength, yet the killer is revealed at the end to be some skinny twerp, chick, or old man. We could also call this the Tobey/Spider-man problem in those sequels.

LOL I think it's a blast. Question: Is The Hitcher a slasher? It would definitely make my top 10 but I never thought of it as a slasher. Not sure what other subcategory it would be in though.

I plan on making a top ten/twenty list of movies I can't place in other sub-genres, and indeed, The Hitcher would be there.

I typically called it Road Horror, mostly because I couldn't think of anything else.

i like that list a lot (with one exception), but you lightened on your feeling that maniac doesn't count as a slasher?
