I did chop off about a minute. Just seemed to get redundant in one area, so I removed it.

My drummer keeps writing riffs that I cannot play. It pisses me off. He has only been playing for a year and a half, and he is writing Disposable Heroes type riffs. All of the songs I write for the band are 3 chords and a cloud of dust. Lol lol, I didn't peg you as a 3 chord guy In my old age, I can't do the tricky shit anymore.

soundcloud.com/darren-compton-417608897/sample_1uploaded a sample of a piece of the beast. I'm still texting the exporting and mixing, and I just kinda let the main drum keep going regardless if it's needed When I'm finished, I'll upload it in full, and take down this sample

and I'm only sharing that here. Facebook will get the final version. Hope I can get the clipping fixed. I thought I had the mixer levels already low but apparently I need to lower more.

How's the volume overall? I just realized I've only been using my studio monitors, so now I'm worried everything is too loud

It's fine. People have their own volume controls for that matter, but nothing came out overly loud by any means.

Busting my ass trying to nail down this damn solo spot. Starts off good, ends good, but the middle gets murky. Even though i can play through it slowly, once that record button hits, it's like everything gets forgotten. I'm actually at the point where I've got almost 3 hours of practice a night, which is good, cause each take is technically better and better. It's like I write better than I execute. I haven't put this much hours practicing in a long fucking time though, possibly almost a decade. So there's that

Since I'm waiting on a new airbrush, I'm trying to break my fingers back in to record. Since I'm working mainly on the same tune, just starting fresh, a lot of the ideas are pretty much there now. Need my fingers toughened back up though.

Finally put something "finished" on my Souncloud account. soundcloud.com/darren-compton-417608897/pongdemonium-ruccousStill iffy on the drums, but the electronic drums are pretty limited. Better than before, technically, but I lost some customizability with the older program I had that doesn't seem to be apparently. *shrug* As for the guitar sound, that's the pure Mesa Mark V, no pedals...though I probably should've used a noise compressor during the rhythm, but I think the MEP guys preferred it a little dirty. I love my lead tone though, even though it's the exact same settings.

Dig the shreddage at the end. And that was the easiest part, lol After listening to the first version of this tune on several MEP videos, I was reminded how much I wanted to rerecord it with the Mark V, instead of the wimpy Marshall.

You wouldn't be saying that if you had a DSL or a JVM. That shred at the end was fuckin' awesome! The beginning riffs were Slayer-ish. I dig it dude. I couldn't really make out the drums too much though. But I am on an iPad mini, and sometimes mixes sound weird on it. Post more!!!

Nah, Mark V > Marshall DSL & JVM I did keep the drums on the low side, since I didn't really care for what I could get out of the program.
