Need to know if anyone's seen this movie. I just got a free trial of amazon prime, which includes free shipping and a guaranteed arrival in two days. Will be getting here Sunday. I get the free trial offer once a year or so, and I'm trying to take advantage of it for the month that I have it. Reason I ask whether or not anyone's seen it is because I'm pretty fascinated by the story and have never seen an actual movie about it. Only a documentary or two. This was the first movie about the incident and it's received praise from seemingly anyone who'd ever seen it. Historical accuracy is one of the biggest compliments the movie received and that was my biggest concern before buying the movie. Couple that with the fact that this movie came out over 40 years ago, when movies were generally very well-written AND the visual grittiness of that era should really stand out in the movie. One history buff said it's almost as if you're thrown into the era and watching the murders as they happen. It's apparently that brutal and that historically accurate. Any fans? Or will I be the lone reviewer in this thread when the movie arrives Sunday?

"guaranteed arrival in 2 days" not always 100% Never had one later than 3 days though.

Apartment could be what messed that up for you. Thus is my 4th free trial and they've all arrived on promised date. Don't jinx it, dammit!

I use either my work (commercial place tends to get priority timing, and I get my hands on it instead of hoodlums taking it from the door) or an Amazon locker. I actually like the locker.

I used a locker once for the sake of trying it out. It's pretty neat. And guarantees your mail won't get swiped. None in my area yet, though. I gotta travel 30+ miles to hit the nearest one. So if one day I buy a PS4 online I'll have to camp outside because someone will swipe it off the porch.

A new Amazon warehouse opened last year in Columbus. I have literally ordered a movie Saturday night at 9am, and got it on Sunday. I didn't know you can get stuff on Sundays. Being only 20 minutes away from the warehouse surely helps.

Truth be told, I didn't even hear about this movie until just now. Most likely due to the fact that IMDb doesn't have it listed under the "horror" genre, so it never came under my radar.
That said, everything I know about and have seen of 1970's television movies (insofar as horror's concerned) has been pretty positive.

HMF general members are better than all of IMDB. I'll be reviewing this movie tonight. What is it, SciFi? According to IMDB? LOL.

I feel as though having some basic baseline regarding movie genres isn't that terrible a thing. I'm not saying that everyone need follow it - there are movies that IMDb labels horror I certainly don't think fit the categorization, and there are, on the flip-side, some non-labeled films I certainly do feel count as horror. It's not an end-all, be-all for me - it's just a baseline I find moderately useful. If you do consider it horror, then great - if you enjoyed the film, and think that someone without knowledge of the Borden case would enjoy it, even better - I'll watch it, without a doubt.

If you do consider it horror It's a brutal movie based on the REAL LIFE murders of Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother. Umm... Horror...

as imdb fails to list aliens as horror, they are capable of getting it wrong. perhaps the legend of lizzie borden is another such example.

What else could a Lizzie Borden based murder history flick be? Action? Melodrama? Comedy? Lol. No.
