Yeah, I think Kaepernick's run threat could really benefit our run game and open things up downfield for DT and Sanders. My #1 concern remains his leadership qualities. No more "7tormsComing" type of bullshit, he better be working just as hard to earn the respect of his locker room as he would be hitting the playbook.

I wonder if the 49ers would take Clady off our hands, lower the draft pick burden in a trade for him while clearing the necessary cap space to land him. That would be a savvy deal all-around. I think if Clady didn't play Mr. Glass 2 of the last 3 years we'd have a better chance at dealing him. Either way, there's still a decent chance they take him. I'm gonna miss Clady. Pretty sure he's by far the longest tenured Bronco on the team, at the moment.

Yeah, probably be impossible to deal him but San Fran is pretty goddamn stupid and it's a contract to fill out their cap so who knows.

I want to see Captain Semen in action, damn you both! He's not getting the nod over Sanchez. Also, we just won a Super Bowl with Manning's dead body. A young, proven veteran with lots in the tank would be nice.

He's got physical qualities, I can't write him off on those, it's the leadership and work ethic. Quarterback is brains before brawn, and his kissing his bicep shit is not it.

This is where I think we have to trust in Elway and defer to a locker room used to winning and doing things the right way. Hopefully guys like DeMarcus Ware and CJ Anderson can rein him in.

I think Elway aims for character quality when recruiting free agents. He transformed this team. Team pretty much went down the shitter when he retired. Took over after a 4-12 Josh McNugget disaster and we haven't looked back.

Took over after a 4-12 Josh McNugget disaster and we haven't looked back. My only counter-example to that would be Talib but he has grown up a great deal as a result of his time in New England. It's interesting though, Elway has benefitted from character concerns in the draft to land two top 15 talents in a row in Bradley Roby and Shane Ray. It's an interesting draft strategy and requires a lot of due diligence and a little bit of a dice roll. If he keeps that trend up, I expect Robert Nkemdiche to be our pick this year. Malik replacement. Top 5 talent with a little character baggage and some motor concerns who will slide a lot on draft day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoNwmtrGACwAbsurd athleticism for a 295 pounder.

If he's the guy Elway targets I think he'd have to move up a bit, like he did with Shane Ray. I think someone takes him in the first round.

Schefter says the trade compensation has been agreed upon, ball's in Kaepernick's court now concerning a restructure.

I expect that this will be an incentive laden contract to reach his original cap number. We have a lot of cap space next year to accommodate incentive bonuses from this year.

A mid-round pick. I knew there was no way they'd weasel Elway into a 2nd rounder.

Schefter says the trade compensation has been agreed upon, ball's in Kaepernick's court now concerning a restructure. It's probably already done, at this point. Kaep met with Elway on Thursday, and now two days later there's been an agreement for a trade... Elway wouldn't have pursued that if the meeting with Kaep didn't go well. I'll bet he'll be signed to the roster on Monday or Tuesday.
